Play Ultimate. Seriously, join Vicious Circles, and play some effing women's Ultimate at Wesleyan. We are totally fun. You don't have to have any experience, or any athletic prowess, you just have to want that disc.

if you're interested, we'll be having an informational meeting next week, email mfoos@wes or comment.

Dear Weslings! [23 Aug 2006|07:15pm]

girlziplocked
Dear Weslings of the graduating class of 2010,

My esteemed colleague, Xue Sun '08 and I have created a weblog of sorts for the Wesleyan Community to fill a void we felt so desperately ached to be filled this year. Many of the articles we will be posting in the coming weeks will be orientated specifically towards frosh and we welcome you to partake in our webloging.

We hope to make this a very interactive blog and while we haven't exactly figured out where we're going to go with this, good things take time, shut up.

Please visit our site here. Visit often as we have nothing to do while you guys are at orientation except blog.

Xue and I love freshman in a very weird maternal way. Love us back.

Sincerely yours,

Holly Wood '08

phys. ed. [07 Aug 2006|02:48am]

I was thinking about taking a phys. ed. course, possibly Running for fitness, Fitness, or Strength training. Does anybody know whether this is this a bad idea for any reason? Is it hard to get into a P.E. class?

Hey!
I am planning on driving my car x-country [with the father in tow] to Wesleyan. I want to keep my car on campus so I can make the rounds throughout the east coast to visit friends and family members [if I don't get absolutely raped by gas prices before global warming kills us all - whoa, what?]. Just checking before I set off [in the next few weeks]: is it possible for freshman to keep their cars on campus? I read somewhere on the Wesleyan website that parking permits cost fifty dollars per year. Is this true?

Thank you so much.

J

a few random questions:

what do most people do over fall break?
and what would be the easiest yet cheapest mode of transportation to go from say, wesleyan to dc, if one does not have a car with them?

deadlines [27 Jul 2006|02:59pm]

doppelganger4
umm chyeah, even tho ive been on campus for the summer, i've been missing the deadlines for a lot of the papers and registration stuff, including my ID pic, mostly due to the fact that i cant print and i left most of my papers back home...

are they strict with that kind of stuff?
like i totally forgot/missed my healthforms. i still need to get my shot, but wont be able to until i get back home in august.
and i also forgot to register for a language placement test that you have to do on campus during orientation week. But then i heard that placement tests dont really matter and you can register for whichever class above or lower your recommendation(?)

er... i know i havent been the most responsible keeping up with deadlines, but any help?

WestCo [25 Jul 2006|10:36am]
rocket_
I am living in WestCo next year and I am just about to begin shopping and everything for my dorm. What exactly are the two room doubles in WestCo like? I know there is obviously my desk, bed, and dresser, but do I have a closet? Room for a chair? Nightstand? I feel a little ridiculous since I made a point of visiting the dorms and checking everything out back in April, but now I don't even remember.

random food question [24 Jul 2006|08:32pm]
em1113
So we just got information on food packages and I'm trying to decide what the best option is. There is a 14 meal plan and 12 meal plan (plus some points) and a new block plan where you can eat as little or as many meals a week as you want. So for former freshman what did you find was the best plan for you? Also, in general how do points work?

I know we're all feeling this antici... [24 Jul 2006|04:42pm]

pation for orientation and the official start to out life at Wes! I myself am aching to start classes (which I think my parents regard as odd).

But before all that fun can start...we have to all buy for college.

So, to those non-procrasinators/older students out there...any tips on what to get for dorm room accessorizing?

ok this may be a dumb question, but i have no idea how much clothing i should bring to school with me. i know my whole closet can't come, but i'm not sure how much is necessary/reasonable.

also, i'm living in the butterfields and if i brought a trunk to transport everything in, would there be enough room to keep it in the dorm?

thank you!

Dear Wesleyan Prefrosh,

It is that time of the year again (July) and you and those who have spawned you have begun to get ready for your transition to college.

I'm sure many of you have lots of questions and are eager to get to Wesleyan to begin the new life you have designed for yourself.

Anyway, as a veteran prefrosh-mommy for the 09'ers, I'm extending my experience and love for all precious prefrosh dumplings to you guys.

Ask whatever you want, no matter how stupid.

P.S. Begin using weschat now. Under AIM, create a chatroom entitled "weschat" and invite yourself and all your new friends. We already know of this.

If you'd like to invite me, my sn is girlziplocked.

Attention attention room assignments are online!

How to get to them:

Sign into you E-Portfolio

Click on the "My Student Portfolio" tab

In the subsection marked "Your Wesleyan Career" the last one that you should click on is "Student Profile"

There should be a link right below the heading on that page you get to that says "please click here to update your information"...click it!

Click on the "Personal Data" link

Your room and specific building will be at the bottom of the page.

Enjoy! (And no, unfortunately it doesn't say who your roomie is.

And this comes from a post made last year around the same time.

hey guys i just wanted to share with everyone that our wesid portfolio things are set up now... which means we can all jump on the proverbial bandwagon of facebook!

so yeah its pretty much the same as they said before,
username is first initial and last name
password is first letters of first and last name and then your id (ex. dm012333)

there might be a difference if you have a middle name in it? i dunno, but the above worked for me.

goodluck guys.

Hello everyone! I may be late on introductions but it doesn't mean I can't start now...

My name is Hannah, I am from Los Angeles, and I am so happy to be going to Wesleyan that I am floating on air.

I love meeting new and fascinating people and having adventures.

I will be so much happier when the interactions will be face to face.......

Hurrah!
